Making Money with Your Blog!

A place for finding the Nuts and Bolts for Making Money Online with Affiliate Marketing Business Opportunity!

What is SEO?

SEO is the abbreviation for search engine optimization. As will be discussed elsewhere in this ebook, with the ever increasing use of the Internet as a means for business and commerce, search engine optimization or SEO is becoming more important all of the time.

From a technical standpoint, SEO is the term to define the various marketing techniques that are utilized to build, develop and maintain an Internet website so as to enhance its chances of being ranked in the top levels of search engine results when relevant searches are undertaken.

As will be discussed throughout this ebook, there actually are a number of techniques that are employed when it comes to search engine optimization or SEO. These techniques and strategies that are used to optimize a website include the creation of keyword enriched content, the structure of that copy, website page layout, the proper usage of HTML meta-tags and the website submission office that was employed.

Why Is SEO So Important?

Each and every month literally thousands of new websites go online. A significant portion of these websites are being established by business enterprises of different types. Indeed, in this day and age business competition on the Internet and World Wide Web is intense.

The bottom line is that you may spend a good deal of money designing, creating, building and developing a website for an Internet business or for a brick and mortar world business that can benefit from an Internet presence. Naturally, it is crucial to have a good looking and user friendly website for your Internet business. However, a business cannot survive let alone thrive by looks alone.

Just what are the Benefits of Submitting Articles to E-Zines

E-zine advertising is perhaps one of the most underused forms of promotion. It is a good idea to do your homework, before launching your viral marketing campaign. Article writing and publishing has become the latest buzz in the internet website marketing world. The name of the game as far as Internet marketing

If there is one marketing tool that can help you improve your website's traffic, pull up your search engine ranking, increase your sales potentials and online revenue even if you don't have huge marketing budget nor technical skills, it would be article marketing.

1. To boost your click through rate, you need to give your articles attention-grabbing titles. This is to ensure that you will be able to attract online users to open and read your content. Here are the characteristics of a great title: It must be concise, direct to the point, keyword-rich, intriguing, and most importantly, it must have the ability to communicate the gist of your content.

2. One of your objectives in marketing your articles is to establish your expertise on your chosen niche so your potential clients will trust you. This can be done by making sure that your articles are content-rich, informative, useful, and highly relevant to the interests and needs of your target market.

3. You would want your readers to visit your website after they have read your articles. Drive them to click your URL by making your resource box compelling and enticing. Communicate the benefits and the kind of information they can get from your website. Don't forget to include your name, the problems you solve, your expertise, and your desire to help.

4. Write more. In article marketing, each submission grants you at least one inbound link. So, it follows that the more articles you write and submit, the better your chances of connecting to your target market and increasing your traffic.

5. Pick the best submission sites. Not all publishing sites are created equal. While some can give your articles the exposure they need, there are some which are not even indexed by search engines. Don't waste your valuable time on these sites and stick with the ones that are highly visited and trusted.

Contrary to what the name suggests, search engine optimization is about optimizing your web pages for the most relevant search result's in the search engines. If you understand this you will be miles ahead of the rest. Just try to keep in mind what it is the searcher will be looking for when surfing the net.

Keyword research is the greatest means of finding out what people are searching for. Once this is accomplished, you are armed with information that can be put to good use in creating web pages full of relevant content, this is all supplied by your keyword research. High result placement is imperative to receive targeted traffic to your website.

Why do we need to have our website in the top ten result' s of a surfers search on the engines? Knowing that 80% of surfers only peruse the first page of any result' s thrown up by the search engines means we have to have a high placement in the search result' s for our particular keyword or phrase. If you think of those annoying TV adverts and compare your marketing to them, that is the same effect you are after. You want to be in their face every time they type in that keyword or phrase.

Search engine optimization is used to get a high placement result, it is after all sensible to think that the best supplier is the one with high placement result in the searchers point of view. This occurs because, not only do you need to optimize your web pages but having other websites linking to yours, will also give great weight to your expert status on what ever subject or product you are promoting. This linking will happen naturally because of your high result placement. In other words success breeds success.

Considering the millions of searches made everyday and that four out five people use search engines, it is only common sense that you require a high placement result. Referring back to a previous statement you need to be " in their face " at every opportunity.

The high placement result' s can be achieved by pay per click advertising but a more longer lasting method of this, is done with the organic listings, and with other free advertising can be more beneficial to the web master who has limited funds for such endeavours. The result' s of this type of advertising can maintain better result' s than the big national companies throwing money at their pay per click advertising campaigns.

If you are interested in finding further information on the organic result method and how to get the free listings for your website, no matter what niche you are targeting, then you definitely want to check out the website below.

Article marketing works when you work it right. Unfortunately, many article marketers do not work it right.

In my experience of coaching hundreds of article writers and marketers, I have noticed at least three common and typical mistakes made by both new and experienced article marketers.

Let's take a closer look at each of these three common mistakes and then look at what to do instead.

Mistake #1 - Not understanding marketing - Many people do not understand marketing because the concept frightens them. Think of it this way - marketing is simply letting other people know what you do. Therefore, in article marketing, marketing is simply getting your articles in front of as many people as possible.

Mistake #2 - Using only article directories - I love article directories. They are not the only way to market your articles however. The ways to market your articles are limited only by your imagination and creativity. Here is my definition of creativity - "Creativity is simply looking at something that has always been there and seeing something that has not been seen before." Ask yourself - "In how many different ways can your ideal client consume the information in your article?"

Mistake #3 - Not having a consistent plan or system to market your articles - Most article marketers treat article marketing like any other form of marketing - they wait until things are getting bad, and then in desperation pull something off the marketing menu and throw some money ad effort at it and hope something will work. I call this "marketing a la carte." When you use a consistent plan or system, you do not have to hope something will work, you know it will work.

Avoid these mistakes and use these tips to ramp up your article marketing.

Thinking of submitting articles to directories to start ramping up your online marketing campaign? You need an article submission strategy!

Your article submission strategy depends on what your goal is.

If your goal is to get traffic, then submit to all the most popular directories like Ezine Articles. These authority sites get tens of thousands of visitors everyday to even hundreds of thousands of visitors, so you'll want to leverage on this traffic to build your business if you can.

If your goal is to build backlinks to your website for ranking well in the search engines, then use a service like Submit Your Article or Article Marketer. They will submit your article to hundreds of article directories and give you an absolute flood of backlinks.

If you are concerned about duplicate content (and it doesn't really matter that much, by the way), then Jet Submitter is a great choice; you'll be able to leverage their content spinner and submit your articles to the directories.

And if you are going purely for traffic alone, using an article submitter is not a bad idea too. You will see an incremental increase in traffic by leveraging every article you write on hundreds of directories.

However, what I do together with these strategies is that I also crank out articles everyday by the tons. Sometimes, I'll submit 10 to 20 articles a day that promote my niche sites. Of course, I don't write all these articles myself most of the time! I might outsource them to a reliable writer and they'll do the job for me.

I hate reciprocal linking.

It is such a hassle. Even specialized reciprocal linking sites don't really help all that much. Many of the link requests that I do get are from poker sites that are totally irrelevant to my site's content. Most of the sites that I would like to link to don't respond. Some sites supposedly do respond, but, when I search their sites, I can't find my link anywhere. It is just so totally and completely frustrating.

Link popularity is a major factor in search engine rankings. How does someone like me, who despises reciprocal linking, go about improving my site's link popularity?

Fortunately for me, I have discovered two ways to do exactly that. They are blogging and submitting articles.

I added the Work At Home Ideas Blog(http://www.affiliateutopia.com/blog/) to my website two weeks ago. Search engines love content and blogs are about the easiest way to add fresh content to your site. But, how can a blog improve your site's link popularity? Most blogs feature their own RSS or XML feed. If a visitor to your blog likes your content, then he just might decide to syndicate your content on his website. In the past two weeks, my blog's XML feed has been hit more than 150 times. I expect to get at least some new links out of that.

Writing articles and submitting them to article directories is another great way to get more links pointing back to your site. You can place your own "resource box"(similar to the one at the bottom of this article) at the bottom of your articles. Your resource box wiil contain a link back to your website. The article directory will publish your article and--BAM-you have an instant link back to your website. Submitting articles is a great way to get your site's popularity going like gangbusters.

Here are some outstanding article directories that you should be submitting to: IdeaMarketers -- http://www.ideamarketers.com/ EzineArticles -- http://www.ezinearticles.com/ GoArticles -- http://www.goarticles.com/ ISnare -- http://www.isnare.com/ Internet Home Business Articles-- http://www.internethomebusinessarticles.com/

Here is a little tip for your article submissions. Many article directories allow you to enter HTML code in your articles. This gives you the ability to control the anchor text of your site's link in the resource box of your article. The anchor text of your link serve as keywords for the search engines. Use a keyword research tool, such as Good Keywords(http://www.goodkeywords.com/), to vary your anchor text from week to week. By doing this, you will rapidly build up a number of keywords for your site.

By using your blog's RSS or XML feed and submitting articles, you can increase the link poularity of your website without all of the hassles of reciprocal linking.

Article Marketing on the Internet is a whole different story

Article Marketing on the Internet is a whole different story because of the way your articles reach humans who have an interest in them. Article Marketing will help you increase your link popularity, search engine positioning for your keywords and phrases, and it helps you reach more potential customers for your products or services.

With the arrival of e-zines, content-rich materials, etc, their publishers are desperately looking for resources that can provide them with articles having caliber content at minimum cost. Today, Article marketing is an effectual method of diverting traffic especially to their site.

Some fundamentals on which article marketing are based are as follows:

Consecrating importance to the reader

The most significant point that needs to be considered while writing an article is consecrating importance to the reader. We should write keeping the readers in mind what they want to read. While writing an article, you should be able to perceive what the reader expects from the article and try to deliver it. This process initiates with choosing the topic. Topic or the subject of the should be such that it should have a blend of both the current issues as well as contents that are already published on the net. However, the ratio should be maintained that the readers get more of the new details. The past reference is only given to let the reader relate the article with the past ones. The second thing needed is that the article should have a relation to with the site it is formulated. The motif of the article should not divert from the notion delivered by the site. If importance is given to the readers on these issues and values, trafficking is bound to increase in your website.

Articles related to the website

One of the most important concepts to be kept in mind in Article Marketing is to make your article available on the web by linking it to several search engines, if not all. This helps your article to be noticed by readers when they give the key word related to your article while browsing on the web. Today, Articles can easily be linked manually with the advent of technology. Today we have submitting and linking soft wares available in the market and on the web at reasonable prices. Again, there are sites with subscription facilities for submitting articles to article directories. These facilities help in buying time from publishing these articles. One thing to be considered for making the articles of some use, before submitting them to the directories, is that they should always relate to the theme of the website of which they are a part.

Formulating a Resource file

After finishing the article, we should always remember to form a resource file for the same. It should contain all the information related to your article. It should have the copyright information for barring any somewhat copying. It should contain that special feature or the uniqueness of the article. It helps the publisher to make his decision easily. At the same time, reader also gets impressed seeing its values. It should also contain the links related to the website in which you publish your article. You can even mention any special offers related to your article (if any). In general, that resource file should be a data bank of all the information related to your article. This resource file should always be there with your article appended either to the title of the article or after the closing of the article.

If you know how to use article marketing to promote your website, you can be sure of a stream of traffic for years to come. Article marketing is not yet fully understood as being one of the best ways to advertise your website: even better than pay per click advertising.

Let's first look at the benefits, and then what you must do to achieve them. If you write an article that is relevant to your website or theme of your niche, then you can either publish it on your website as a web page, or submit it to article directories. If you take the former route, and publish your article on your own website, then the search engines will regard it as good fresh content and give the page on your website that it is published the benefit for that in the listing for that page.

This might not be enough to guarantee anybody ever finding your page, since it might be one of another million using the same keyword and topic. That does not mean to say that you should not do it, since your web page listing (Google lists individual web pages, not complete web sites) is determined by a large number of factors of which freshness and relevant content are only two. They are, however, two necessary factors to include in your whole website design if you are using search engine optimization as a major part of your traffic generation strategy.

On the other hand, if you submit your article for publishing on article directories, and the article is approved, then it can do a lot more for you that if it were only on your own website. Article directories generally allow you what is known as an 'author's resource box', in which you can provide some information about yourself and a link to your website. You can use that link to your advantage.

If your article is interesting or authoritative enough for a reader to want to know more about what you have written, then you should provide them with a way of doing so. You do this through your use of your resource box. Make a statement to the effect that 'For more information on this subject, check out 'myname's' website on 'xxxx.com'. For 'xxxx.com' provide a URL that leads the reader directly to a page on your site that provides more information on that topic.

That page must be relevant to the topic. If you have written an article about emeralds, don't lead them to a page on sapphires, or even your gemstones home page. It must be emeralds. That page must also include an opt-in form, or even be a squeeze page designed to secure their email address and first name. Never let anybody visit any page on your website and leave without you seducing their name and email address from them. You must build up an email list of people interested in gemstones in general so that you can keep in contact with special offers from time to time.

This is using article marketing to its best advantage because here is what you have just achieved with very little work other that writing an article. First, you have published the URL to a page on your site that any reader can click to visit your website. This is exactly what you have to work so hard to achieve on search engines like Google, and pay so much for on pay per click advertising programs such as Adwords. Yet by writing an article you get it free!

Now only that, but Google regards a link back to your site from another website as indicating the importance of the page to which the other site is linked. That improves your listing position on Google. Every article directory that accepts your article also provides you with a one-way link back to the web page you have stated in your resource box URL.

However, that is not the end of it! Many people who are unable to write their own content copy articles from directories to their own sites. They are allowed to do this as long as they also include the author's name and resource box. This provides you not only with another one way link back to your website, but also with more opportunities for visitors to the other site to click on your link.

In order to achieve all of these benefits however, your article must be well written and provide information that is useful to the person reading it. Make sure that you keep spell checking because readers will think that if you are sloppy with your spelling then you might be sloppy with your information. Poor grammar is also something you should try to avoid, although you are not expected to be perfect. Spelling is more important than grammar, although to write "John and me is working on the similar thing" does not provide a lot of confidence to the reader in your abilities.

If English is not your language, or if you are not sure about your writing abilities, have your articles written by a ghostwriter. The benefits that articles give you are well worth the effort, and if you learn how to use article marketing to promote your website, then there is no reason why you should not succeed in driving lots of traffic to your chosen web pages.

Making Money with Your Blog!

A place for finding the Nuts and Bolts for Making Money Online with Affiliate Marketing Business Opportunity!

I know a lot of you HATE to act like salespeople or HATE to push your product or service, but if you don't do it and you don't have a sales team - WHO WILL DO IT??

That's why I recommend you learn the most effective ways to write a sales letter or email. This way at least you'll have effective copy working for you.

So, what is a sales letter? What do I mean? Its that long, scrolling page that you see on many websites these days that you sometimes don't even know what they're selling until you get to the bottom and you especially don't know how much it is until you reach the bottom but you'll soon find out that you've been 'hooked' when you're halfway down the page and 5 minutes have gone by.

Not a lot of people you see really do this well. After all, don't many small business owners complain that they're marketing isn't working well if at all?

This is mostly due to the copy or content in such a marketing piece. I don't care if we're talking about an ad, postcard, flyer, door-hanger, webpage, email, printed newsletter or brochure. The content is what makes or breaks it; it's what sells or doesn't sell.

Of course you have to place your ad or promotion in the right place, targeting the right people but using the 'right message' is critical.

I coach small business owners and entrepreneurs on a daily basis about these strategies when I work with them on creating their marketing materials, websites or email newsletters. Coming up with creative, fresh marketing ideas and solutions to bring entrepreneurs more business without breaking the bank is what I specialize in!

This is a great checklist for you to use when you're creating your own sales copy or promotional materials no matter what the industry, product or service.

1. It's important to do your market research and know your target market.

2. Draw them in with a killer BIG AND BOLD headline.

3. Use engaging subheadings, phrases and statistics.

4. Be reader-centered, not writer-centered.

5. Be conversational.

6. Ask for the order!

7. Offer bonuses & a guarantee.

8. Include a P.S.

9. Have your copy proofread!

Now, if you still feel like you can't get it down or write it in a way your readers will respond easily, then you can delegate this.

Article submissions are a great way to promote your Internet Business and drive in targeted traffic. There are literally thousands of ezines, websites and newsletters you can submit to in order to increase your website traffic.

The problem with this practice is that you will often times spend more time re-working your articles and filling out forms than you did in writing them!

This practice is not only very time consuming, but also lends to a duplicate content dilemma.

If you submit an identical article to multiple websites, search engines rapidly identify the duplicate content and you do not receive the maximum benefit of incoming links from your article submissions.

Imagine having to manually create a different version of every article you write for every website you submitted it to - what a headache!

This is where article submission software comes in handy. It can make the job of submitting articles much easier. Most of the article submission software packages submit to their own list of publishers. Top quality article directories e.g. Ezine Articles, Go Articles, Article Dashboard and the like only accept manual submissions, so article submission software is out of the question with these quality directories.

You can expect that you will typically pay per article or for a set number of articles per week or month. The fees themselves, are generally cheap, but they add up swiftly since you want to publish a constant stream of articles to drive targeted traffic to your website.

While article submission software programs are not cheap, the cost is well worth the time you save and more quickly ensures increased website traffic and promotion to your Internet Business, the end result of which is more money in your pocket.

Here's the bottom line - building up and promoting your Internet Business, increasing your website traffic and driving in targeted traffic are much more easily and quickly accomplished with the benefit of article submission software.

Article writers get their articles kicked back for review all the time over this. I've even had some kickbacks when I've not been paying attention and not checked a link that I thought was good, and it was not. Something had just gone wrong in the last day and I didn't know it, so I was sending somebody to a link that was dead.

Make sure the links you put in there to your websites or blogs are live. Even if you've just been on that site that morning and you're writing an article in the afternoon, check the link.

It used to be that I taught that you want to have a clickable text link in your resource box, called an anchor text, like "Click here to..." or "Article Marketing Minute" would be highlighted.

You can still have one of those in your resource box, but what we've found is that many of the folks who have websites, newsletters and blogs that are using articles are not savvy enough to take the HTML code to make those clickable links back to their website, newsletter or blog and use them correctly, so it winds up a dead link. You don't want that.

You want to have at least one, maybe two, of what's called an 'absolute URL' in your resource box. Here's what an absolute URL is. It starts with http:// -- all the way to .com or the end of the domain and file name. So an absolute URL is the whole thing - http all the way to .com

Now that you know what an absolute URL is, and it's kind of a funky sound to it, 'absolute URL' - take it to the next party and see how many people know what an absolute URL is. It would be great conversation. Yeah, right.
